Frequently Asked Questions

Answers To Common Questions

What is home care?

Home care refers to non-medical support provided in the home to help individuals live safely, comfortably, and independently. This can include assistance with daily activities such as personal care, companionship, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and mobility support.

At No Place Like Home Care, we focus on personalized, relationship-driven care that supports not only daily needs, but overall well-being and quality of life at home.

How do you ensure the safety and quality of care?

We take a thoughtful, hands-on approach to ensure every client receives safe, high-quality care.

Each client receives a personalized care plan, and caregivers are thoughtfully matched based on experience, personality, and the client’s specific needs. We also maintain regular communication with families and conduct ongoing check-ins to ensure care remains consistent, reliable, and aligned with expectations.

What areas do you serve?

We proudly serve clients throughout Berks, Lehigh, Lancaster, and Montgomery Counties. If you’re unsure whether you fall within our service area, we’re always happy to discuss your location and see how we can help.

How much does care cost?

The cost of care depends on the level of support needed, the number of hours, and the type of services provided. We offer personalized care plans to ensure you receive the right level of support. We’re happy to discuss your specific needs and provide clear, transparent pricing during your initial consultation.

Is there a minimum number of hours required?

Yes, we do have minimum service requirements to ensure consistency and quality of care. We’ll discuss scheduling options with you during the consultation and recommend a plan that best supports your needs.

Who can benefit from home care services?

Home care can benefit individuals of all ages who need extra support to live safely and comfortably at home. This includes seniors, individuals with chronic conditions, those recovering from illness or surgery, and adults with disabilities who may need assistance with daily activities or supervision. We currently serve clients 18 years of age or older.

Are your caregivers licensed and trained?

Your safety and peace of mind are our top priorities. All caregivers and nurse navigators are carefully screened through several rounds of interviewing with out Talent Acquisition team and leadership. They must also conduct background checks, drug screenings, and reference checks.

All staff are required to complete comprehensive training—including both video-based and in-person sessions—and must successfully pass competency evaluations before being cleared to provide care.

We also provide additional trainings and certifications to our dementia certified caregivers.

What is the process to start home care services?

Getting started is simple. It begins with scheduling a personalized in-home assessment with one of our Nurse Care Navigators to help us understand your needs. From there, we develop a tailored care plan and carefully match you with a caregiver. Once everything is in place, services can begin quickly—often within a few days.

Can services change over time?

Absolutely. Care needs often evolve, and we are committed to adapting with you. Whether additional support is needed or schedules need to be adjusted, we work closely with clients and families to ensure care remains aligned with changing needs.

Is home care covered by insurance?

Most non-medical home care services are not covered by traditional health insurance or Medicare and are typically paid for privately. However, some long-term care insurance policies may provide coverage for home care services, depending on the plan.

We are currently a private pay provider, but we’re happy to work with families who have long-term care insurance by providing the documentation needed for reimbursement.
